University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry Dental Biomaterials and Restorative Dentistry
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry seeks to fill a full-time, tenured or tenure-track position in the Department of Operative Dentistry. A DDS or DMD (or equivalent) degree is required. At a minimum, an MS degree or past experience in teaching dental biomaterials also is required, and a PhD degree is preferred. Evidence of research experience with the potential to secure external research funding is desired. Responsibilities include teaching dental materials and restorative dentistry at the undergraduate and graduate levels, mentoring graduate students and conducting research. Significant potential exists for research collaboration with faculty in the Departments of Operative Dentistry and Prosthodontics and with researchers in other programs such as Biomedical Engineering and Applied Sciences. Columbia University College of Dental Medicine Oral Diagnosis Section of Adult Dentistry
Columbia University College of Dental Medicine is accepting applications for positions in Oral Diagnosis within the Section of Adult Dentistry. Responsibilities include supervision of predoctoral and postdoctoral students in the assessment of emergency and comprehensive care patients in the patient intake triage area of the dental school to determine chief complaint, clinical oral conditions, physical risk assessment, radiographic requirements, case type and referral for care. This can be a full-time position, including faculty practice, or a part-time position without faculty practice. Required academic qualifications include a DDS or DMD. Candidates must be eligible for licensure in New York State. In addition, applicants must have teaching experience in diagnosis/oral medicine or general dentistry, with experience in general practice. Columbia University College of Dental Medicine Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD)
Columbia University College of Dental Medicine invites applications for a full-time position as Director of the Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) Program in the Section of Adult Dentistry. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with education and experience. Required academic qualifications include a DDS or DMD degree, a certificate of completion from an AEGD program, significant teaching experience (preferably in an AEGD program) and general practice experience. Medical College of Georgia, School of Dentistry General Dentistry Chair
Full-time tenure track faculty position at the professor/associate professor level is available May 1, 2006. Responsibilities include leadership and direction of all departmental activities for the newly formed Department of General Dentistry. University of Washington School of Dentistry Department of Restorative Dentistry—Chair
The Department of Restorative Dentistry at the University of Washington's School of Dentistry is seeking a Chair. This is a full-time faculty appointment at the tenure track Associate Professor or Professor level, or it is a clinician-teacher pathway track appointment at the Clinical Associate Professor or Clinical Professor level, salaried with multiple-year terms. The position is available on or before July 1, 2006.
The Department of Restorative Dentistry includes the disciplines of operative dentistry, fixed and removable prosthodontics, implantology, dental materials science, dental anatomy and occlusion. The responsibilities of the position currently include departmental leadership and management; administration of hospital dentistry; faculty development; administration of the general practice residency and the prosthodontic graduate education programs; and oversight of the Department's education, research, service and community outreach activities. The Chair will participate in the teaching, research and patient care activities of the Department as well as serve as a professional role model for faculty, staff and students. Opportunity for intramural or extramural practice is available. Qualifications include a DDS or DMD degree from an ADA-accredited institution or equivalent and licensure or eligibility for licensure in the State of Washington. The successful candidate must have a strong record of teaching, scholarly activity and administrative experience in an academic setting. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with experience.

Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine Restorative Dentistry
A full-time, tenure track position at the assistant professor/associate professor level is available in the Department of Restorative Dentistry, Division of Operative Dentistry. Primary responsibility will be teaching pre-clinical and clinical operative procedures to undergraduate dental students. The successful candidate will be expected to have knowledge and experience with esthetic restorative materials. Participation in scholarly activities will be expected. A South Carolina teaching dental license is required and is available to individuals with a current US state dental license. Completion of a postgraduate general dentistry program (AEGD or GPR) is desirable but not required. Participation in dental faculty practice is available for private patient treatment. The University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Dentistry Chair, Department of Restorative Dentistry
The University of Tennessee Health Science Center, College of Dentistry, seeks nominations and applications for the position of Chair of the Department of Restorative Dentistry. The Department, one of six clinical departments in the College of Dentistry, has primary responsibility for the following areas: dental anatomy, occlusion, operative dentistry, biomaterials, esthetic dentistry, DAU and prosthodontics. The College of Dentistry is one of seven colleges comprising the University's Health Science Center. The College serves approximately 365 students in predoctoral and advanced training programs.
Applicants must have a DDS/DMD degree and meet eligibility requirements for a Tennessee dental license. The responsibilities of this position include working with a diverse faculty, staff and student personnel, department administration, faculty and staff development, management of the department's educational programs (undergraduate didactic, clinical, pre-clinical and postdoctoral programs in AEGD and Prosthodontics), research, and service activities.
