Senior Lecturer in Operative Dentistry Department of Oral Rehabilitation Faculty of Dentistry University of Otago Dunedin, New Zealand

Applications are invited for a full-time confirmation path position of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in the Department of Oral Rehabilitation within the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand.

The Department of Oral Rehabilitation is responsible for teaching the disciplines of Operative Dentistry, Endodontics, Prosthodontics, Biomaterials Science and Dental Technology at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The appointee should have appropriate qualifications and clinical experience and will be expected to participate in teaching and course development. Applicants must be registrable with the Dental Council of New Zealand and are advised to contact the Council for information on registration (www.dentalcouncil.org.nz). A higher degree leading to registration as a specialist or a PhD would be required for appointment at the Senior Lecturer level. Research experience in clinical cariology would be an advantage. The appointee would be required to undertake research either independently or within one of the established programs.

The Department of Oral Rehabilitation and Faculty of Dentistry supports enrollment in higher degree programs, including PhD or DDSc.

Operative Dentistry—Assistant/Associate Professor Department of Restorative Dentistry University of Washington

The Department of Restorative Dentistry at the University of Washington is seeking applications for either a full-time academic (tenure) track faculty appointment at the assistant professor or associate professor level or a full-time clinician-teacher pathway track faculty appointment at the clinical assistant professor or clinical associate professor level salaried with multiple-year terms.

The position is available on or before July 1, 2008. Responsibilities include didactic and laboratory course leadership in Operative Dentistry and clinical supervision in the broader area of Restorative Dentistry.

Applicants must have a DDS/DMD or equivalent degree from an accredited institution, advanced training in Operative Dentistry or equivalent education and licensure or the ability to become licensed in Washington State.

The University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. Independent research and scholarly activities are expected. Opportunity for intra- or extramural practice is available. Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications.
