ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE DEAN FOR RESEARCH

Creighton University invites nominations and applications for the position of Assistant/Associate Dean for Research who will provide leadership and vision for the research and scholarly mission of the School of Dentistry as it builds its extramural funding base and expands its reputation for research. This is a challenging opportunity for an individual to lead the school in research endeavors while mentoring faculty and students in scholarly activities and aiding faculty in obtaining grant/contract awards. In addition this opportunity will allow the individual to pursue personal research interests and foster collaborations with faculty. This chief research officer reports directly to the Dean.

Nominees and applicants should hold a DDS, DMD and/or PhD degree. Individuals should demonstrate successful grantsmanship or entrepreneurship, a significant publication record and also possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Administrative experience with an understanding of research compliance is desirable. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Candidates should understand and support the mission of the School in its roles of teaching, research, patient care, and community service.

The School of Dentistry is one of nine Schools or Colleges, including Schools of Business, Law, Nursing, Medicine, and a Graduate School, within Creighton University. Creighton University is a Catholic, mission-centered, Jesuit University with an enrollment of over 7,000 students founded in 1878.

Letters of inquiry and applications should be accompanied by a curriculum vitae and the names of three or more individuals who have agreed to provide letters of reference. Nominations should be accompanied by a short paragraph describing the qualifications of the candidate. Applications and nominations will be treated in confidence and will be accepted until the position is filled. Review of applications will begin August 15, 2011. AAGFO Annual Meeting

The Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Gold Foil Operators will be held from October 12–16, 2011, at the Indiana University School of Dentistry in Indianapolis, Indiana. We hope that you will take the time to come and enjoy the fellowship and the continuing education that these meetings represent.

We are fortunate to have secured Drs. Andrea Zandonna, Mel Lund, Mike Cochran, and Arden Christen as lecturers for this meeting; couple their remarks with our always excellent clinical session and this will be a meeting that is hard to beat.

There will be a spouse tour available as well as an architectural tour of historic Columbus, Indiana; Dine-arounds, receptions, and Galas round out some of the social activities that will be offered. We look forward to seeing you there!
