Division of Operative Dentistry and Biomaterials Faculty Position
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, School of Dentistry seeks an outstanding, experienced academic leader in operative dentistry and biomaterials education to serve as the first and second year dental students' Director of Clinics for the Division of Operative Dentistry and Biomaterials.
The position is a full-time, fixed-term open rank position in the Department of Restorative Sciences, Division of Operative Dentistry and Biomaterials. Responsibilities include didactic and clinical instruction of first and second year dental students, as well as coordination of a smooth transition for the dental students from classroom to live patient care. In addition, successful communication with Clinical Affairs to ensure student and patient needs are being met. Participation in the School of Dentistry's intramural faculty practice is required.
The candidate must possess a DDS/DMD degree or equivalent and an MS in operative dentistry. Excellent clinical credentials, including advanced operative and dental materials knowledge, in addition to strong restorative procedures (direct and indirect) foundation are required. Additionally the individual should have experience in organizational and interpersonal skills, mentoring, leadership, and a commitment to diversity, inclusivity and collegiality. A record of research and research funding are preferred. Salary and academic rank will commensurate with qualifications and experience.
